Marcos Vidal               

Born in Vitoria-Gasteiz in 1967, he has lived in Alicante and Valencia, actually he works and lives in Sineu, Mallorca, Spain. Graduated at the "San Carlos" Faculty of Fine Arts in the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. In 1991, specialised in graphic art. There he studied four post degree courses about cinema, comics and animation.

He received twice a grant from the "Pilar i Joan Miró" foundation in Mallorca, Spain (1993 & 1997). In this foundation he studied five courses (1994 to 2006). In 1995 he was invited to participate in the workshops: "Experimental de Gráfica" and "René Portocarrero" in Havana, Cuba, with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Culture. In 1997 he was invited to stay in the "Frans Masereel” centre in Kasterlee, Belgium. He has been guest artist also in “Starke” foundation in Berlin, and in 2007 in the Raketenstation in the “Insel Hombroich” foundation in Germany.

He has made many exhibitions of his works, the more recent solo exhibitions are: SKl gallery, Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Field Institute Hombroich, Foundation Insel Hombroich, Neuss (Germany), International sculpture Symposium of Alicante (Spain), Art Museum of Porreres, Mallorca (Spain), Dato exhibition space of City Hall of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Euzkadi (Spain). Now He is preparing his first exhibition in the Candyland gallery in Stockholm, Sweden.

Others to mention only the important ones: “4gats-Ferran Cano” gallery, “Museo de los angeles” in Segovia, or “Ramon Llull” centre with the apointment of Government Balearic Islands, all in Spain.

It is important to mark especially his participation in events as the 2nd and the 3rd Beijing international art Biennale, the Olimpycs Fine Arts in the China international exhibition center all in Pekin (China), the Biennale “Mediterranean N2” in Dubrovnik (Croatia), the Triennial “Majdanek” in the Majdanek State Museum, Lublin (Poland), 11th Gielniak print competition in Jelenia Góra (Poland), the Busan international print art Festival in Korea. In Spain he participated in the 2nd “Public art exhibition” in Navacerrada, Madrid, “Espai B” gallery in Barcelona, the “56 Arte Alaves” prix in Vitoria-Gasteiz, or the “Ciutat de Manacor” prix in Mallorca. With the SKL gallery he has participated in art fairs as “KIAF 07” and “KIAF 08” in Seoul (korea), and in “Jam Art Mallorca in Palma de Mallorca, (Spain).
