With the creation of this directory we hope to transcend the geographical limits of these islands and display the work of artists in the Balearics to the rest of the world. In times of globalization it is important for artists to have a platform in Internet from which to show their work and exchange ideas with others, no matter where they are from. In fact, direct contact between artists and collectors or others outside our community is one of the principal advantages of this directory. At the same time, this directory gives artists the opportunity to show their most recent work on a local level.

The Association of Visual Artists of the Balearic Islands is proud to present this directory, and we would like to thank the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for their collaboration in this project. We consider that artistic creation goes beyond mere aesthetic and intellectual factors, and is a fundamental sector in the industry of culture and has a strategic role to play in the fields of innovation and development.
